Receptionists
The receptionists are your first point of contact with the surgery. They are
trained to help you. They will make appointments, answer the telephones, prepare
repeat prescriptions and deal with any of your queries. If you have any problems,
or are unsure who to book your appointment with, please ask. Please note, we
are at times extremely busy on the telephones and in the surgery. We would suggest
if you have a non-urgent enquiry that you telephone after 2.00pm. Our receptionists

Training Practice
GP Registrars
The London Deanery approved our practice to become a Training Practice for
fully qualified doctors who wish to specialise in General Medicine. Teaching
and training has always been part of the practice ethos. We have enhanced our
commitment to medical education by taking on the responsibility of training,
under the leadership of Dr Sanjay Lakhani. We train doctors attached to the Northwick
Park Hospital vocational training scheme, who wish to gain additional specialist
experience and training to become General Practitioners. These doctors work as
part of the practice team for one year. For the purpose of their training, they
are required to video consultations. You will be advised in advance of this,
and asked to sign a consent form. If you do not wish your consultation to be
videoed, please advise the receptionist.
Foundation Doctors (year 2)
Dr Julia Gerrard oversees the training of junior doctors who are with us as part
of their postgraduate medical training. These are doctors who may go on to work
in either general practice or hospital medicine.
Medical Students
Periodically, medical students visit the practice. They may be present with a
doctor during a consultation or on a home visit. This will only occur with your
consent. If you would prefer NOT to have a medical student present, please tell
the receptionist when you have checked-in for your appointment. From time to
time, you may also see medical students wandering around the building. This is
because they are attending a teaching session in practice. If you have any concerns,
please advise one of our helpful reception staff or our practice manager.
