FEES FOR NON-NHS WORK

Please be advised that our fees for all non-nhs work (for example completion of insurance claim forms and certification of holiday vaccinations) have increased.  The new fees will be effective from Monday 1st March 2010.  This is the first time we have reviewed our fees in 3 years.  All fees are in accordance with BMA guidelines.  Please see reception for further information & pricing.

APPOINTMENTS

After a successful trial during the month of October 2009, appointments are now bookable ON THE SAME DAY.  There is a small selection of appointments with each GP available to book in advance.  Please either go online to book your appointment (same day or in advance), or call the surgery after 8.30am and speak to a receptionist.

SWINE FLU - Vaccinations

We are currently holding clinics for those eligible for a swine flu vaccination.  Those who are 'entitled' are being called by letter.  At this point (February 2010) we are currently calling those UNDER 5.  If you have received a letter, please contact the surgery in order to book your appointment.

HEALTHSPACE - COMMUNICATOR

Please be advised, to anyone who is currently registered, and anyone who wished to register, that we a temporarily deactivating Healthspace Communicator within the Practice.  For anyone who is registered, if you are trying to contact a GP via this method, you should be receiving an 'out of office' message to advise that you need to seek your advice via the surgery.

We will continue to keep you updated and will notify you once again, should the project be up and running.

EMIS ACCESS (online appointment booking and prescription requests)

EMIS have notified us that they have made improvements to their EMIS ACCESS website.  The layout is more "user friendly" and they report that it should be easier to access during busier periods.

If you do experience problems logging into EMIS Access please try logging in again at another time.  If after 3 failed attempts at logging in a different times you are still unable to get onto the Access website, please register your details again (i.e. create your account again).  We have found that most of the time, you are able to re-register rather than having to contact us at the surgery to have your details cancelled and reissued.  This of course is far more convenient for you!  If this process fails, please do not hesitate to contact the surgery.

Please remember that we DO NOT keep any of these details on your records.  They are issued to you for your safe-keeping.  Your password is of personal choice, and again, we will be unable to prompt a reminder to you on this for confidentiality reasons.  Should you forget/loose your password then please contact us at the surgery, where again we will need to issue you new login details.

  DNA's (Did not attend)

In January 2010, we recorded 102 patients who failed to attend their appointments with the Doctor or Nurse.  This is still a VERY large number, considering that we book MOST of our appointments ON THE SAME DAY!

PLEASE contact the surgery by telephone or by dropping in to cancel the appointment if you are unable to attend.  Alternatively you can log into EMIS Access and cancel your appointment online.  We can then offer these appointments to other patients.

KEEPING YOUR DETAILS UP TO DATE

Over recent months, we have been encountering increasing problems with trying to contact some patients by telephone. This is usually because the number is no longer available, or perhaps that we have the wrong telephone number recorded in your medical records. Furthermore, we have also noticed an increasing number of patients not accepting 'anonymous' calls. This can cause a problem as the Surgery's outgoing lines are all anonymous numbers. If you do want to leave a message for a member of the team to call you back, and you know you have a block on anonymous callers, please leave us a number on which we can reach you directly. This will ensure there are no delays in responding to your queries.

Please notify us of any changes to your address and/or phone number to ensure we are always able to reach you!
